There is no place like home...

I would never believe you if you told me I would tear up, when I heard the flight attendant say  "Welcome to Indiana", but I did. I've never missed cornfields so much in my life. Don't get me wrong, I love the south, my amazing job, and everyone I have met here the past 8 months. Sometimes though, a girl just needs to go home.

I mean seriously??

First stop: Indianapolis
My college town, it will always hold a special place in my heart. I have no doubt in my mind I have the best friends a girl could ask for. Even though I talk to them all 800 times a day, there is something to be said for laying on the floor with wine and your best.

My fashion soul mates.

Home will always be home. Family, good friends, amazing neighbors, FOOD, shopping, and simply walking around the house in shock you are actually there.

It was an amazing trip, I feel refreshed and ready to take on the holiday season!

The countdown

Oh summer, I wait for you all winter and spring. And then come August I am over you like a Taylor Swift song. I look forward to thunderstorms days so I can sneak a cardigan in. And being in the south now makes me very jealous of all my Indiana loves teasing me about their pumpkin spice lattes, boots and long sleeves.
So as I suck it up and enjoy the end of summer that may last a little longer than normal my countdown to home has began! My fashion soul mates, family and  that great state of Indiana...I'll be there soon!!! Save me a latte!

July..sweet July

Oh hello July!
This month has flown by. Its been hot, sometimes rather rainy. It has hosted a few emotional break downs over palmetto bugs. A visit from my mom. A road trip. A catch up session roof top with an old Indiana friend. And of course new favorites.

While in Charleston, this candle lover fell in love.

Hand made in Charleston, wine candles! My two favorite things! They are a must try.

July also gave me these lovelies from Anthro...

And last but not least...
It's Jackie's Birthday month

So kids stay classy, eat some popsicles, and burn some candles
Off to the beach

Birthday month!

If you know me...you know I love June! Just like Christmas my list gets sent out in April and I always make sure June is full of adventure.
We started it off with a road trip to historic, Savannah. The trip was full of amazing houses, a ghost tour, a little shopping and probably the best lunch of my life at a little stop downtown.

Followed by an amazing birthday full of love from home! And some love from the beach too.

June was ended by a reunion four months in the making! My sister and dad flew down for a few days, and even though they are pretty messy, it was a good visit.

And what post would be complete without my favorite obsession of the day... Check out this amazing bag!

So hello July!

May days

Is June really this weekend? Time is just flying by, but we all know i'm excited for Birthday month to start! However May brought some pretty amazing things to my life:

It brought more road trips...

                                                           Shopping in Charleston

It brought lots of sun, and with sun comes Kylie's Frizzy hair...

Moroccan Oil is literally a lifesaver in the south
It brought family down...

My mom flew down for an amazing weekend, it was so nice to see her!

And it also brought my first BirchBox....

A monthly box of beauty samples
It brought girls night...

                                                                               Via Facetime

May has been an amazing start to summer, now lets bring on the big 23!

Routine

Hello friends!
Ahh..finally getting settled into my new little beach life down in South Carolina. I'm a routine girl, schedules and organization make my world go round. This move was none of that. My mom and I packed up my car and hit the road with my clothing just a few short weeks ago.

(and there were tears at the airport..lots)
And after that my dad made his way down with the rest of my stuff, how a 22 year old acquires so much I will never know.  My big dream of having a tiny little studio full of pictures of Jackie O on the walls along side my family's familiar faces and all my favorite candles, books, and pillows finally came true. Its taken a bit but i'm getting there. Work is fabulous, advancing at a great pace, and every day assuring me I chose the right career path.
I really miss the girls & the fam but laying out at the pool on April 1st makes that a little better. :)
With love from the south

The next chapter

Currently stuck in the Atlanta airport, waiting to finally get on a flight to go home!! Home however will have a new meaning in a few days. Mary Oliver once said " Tell me what you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?". And that quote has been heavily on my mind the past few months. My friends & family joke that I went on tour during the job hunt process, and in some ways I very much did. But after many flights and road trips, and lots of research I settled on Myrtle Beach.

And I'm terrified and pumped all in one! I'm going to miss my hoosier friends more than life itself, and my family will be the hardest to leave! But I need, I crave adventure right now!
For now...I'm stuck in the airport. Oh and Starbucks called me Kyle, and my flight got canceled.

Be positive, be adventurous
